| Ramalakshmi, is a popular young Carnatic vocalist. Gifted with a mellifluous, captivating voice, and abundant musical talent, her performances are a connoisseur's delight. Her music is marked by a deep insight into raga-bhava, sincerity in approach and total involvement in the aesthetic beauties of Carnatic music.
Ramalakshmi started her training in music at a very young age of 5 years under her mother Smt. Trichy S. Premavathy, a very talented Vocalist and later came under the tutelege of Sri O.S.Tiagarajan(OST).
Rama has received special training in Thevaram & Thiruvasagam songs (an old and ancient Pann
based songs on Lord Shiva) from Sri. Ramachandra Oduvar. Also she has learnt advanced RTP Concepts from Sri. Palghat Rajamani Iyer(Son of Palghat Mani Iyer).
She is currently receiving advanced training from Ms. Padma Srinivasan, a renowned musician in New Jersey.
As a well accomplished music teacher, she has the
distinction of teaching a great number of students, many of whom are
performing concerts and winning music Competitions.
She currently resides in New Jersey,USA and performs concerts in Tristate Area(NY,NJ and PA of USA).
Introduced to film music by the Director Mr.Manirathnam in the Movie Alaipayuthe for the song "Alaipayuthe Kanna " for which A.R.Rehman has scored the music.
Performed in Prestigious Cleveland Thygaraja Aradhana during the year 2005 Season.

honoured by The Panniru Thirumurai Valarchi Kazhagam.
Released Albums on Thevaram,Thiruvasagam and on Devotional Songs.

Performed concerts for Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, a non-profit Organization based in Saylorsburg,PA raising
funds for All India Movement(AIM) for Seva ,a noble cause intiated by Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswathi.
Got selected by the Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram under their talent promotion scheme for
the year 1994-95 and gave concerts in Sri Kapali Fine Arts - Mylapore, Narada Gana Sabha - Karur, Sivakasi
Arts Club - Sivakasi and Vani Vilasa Sabha - Kumbakonam
Got Selected in V.D.S. Arts under their Talent Revealing Opportunity Programme
and received Tambura.
Gave Special performance in Chembai Sangeethothsavam as a talented & budding
artist at the age of 12.
Involved in a special project with AIM for Seva Movement for raising funds to
help the ailing Thevaram Oduvar Community by giving
concerts and has successfully raised over $30,000.
Has Initiated Successfully and continues to train several People in Tevaram and
Tiruvachagam. The trained students have successfully
performed as group in various temples and received accolades. She takes
special care in teaching them in the same way that it was intended to be
taught as she herself learnt from the Ooduvars
from Lord Shiva Temples in Tamil Nadu.
Has been actively participating in the judging Panel for the Carnatic Music Association of North America (CMANA) GCD competition since 2003 .
Currently resides in East Brunswick, New Jersey with her family (husband Krishna & daughter Rasikapriya)
